In the past decade or so, there has been much talk about something that is age-old, but now has a name. That name is “creative visualization”.
You’ve probably heard the term before in the news, or reading a magazine. Several celebrities – especially those into self-help – have touted creative visualization as the next great thing. But you don’t need to be a self-help guru to understand where the theory of creative visualization comes from. To be clear, visualization isn’t really a technique at all. It’s a process one embarks on that is kind of like meditation in that there is the intent to focus on one thing, which lets the rest fall away. ![]()
No matter who you are, where you come from, or what your ultimate goals are, creative visualization can help you.
We all want to succeed in life, and success is going to mean something different to each individual person. When you consider it, every one of our ancestors was a success, because they continued to live and reproduce. That bodes well for our potential success, too! Our individual success goals vary greatly, as they should! For one person, success may mean a big house, several expensive cars, and a few exotic vacations each year. To someone else success means a cabin in the woods with a woodstove and enough cut wood to make it comfortably through the winter. Success is completely subjective, and there are no right or wrong answers. ![]()
Humans have developed to use our imaginations for all kinds of purposes. Whether it is for comfort, entertainment, safety, or protection, our own imagination performs many jobs in our day to day lives that we rarely, if ever, even think about.
Visualizing can be a powerful tool in our self-help and self-preservation toolkit. The process can be undertaken at any time of the day, in virtually any situation you can think of. All you really need is your brain, and since that’s already with you all the time, you’re all set! ![]()
My partner in the dialog asked, “Why am I not getting the thing I want?” In this particular case, it was a promotion at work, but it could be anything–maybe you want to find a fulfilling life partner, or you’d like to be more confident, or make more sales calls, or make a significant change in career or life style or whatever it may be. Part of the answer is this: you need to be receptive and open to actually receive it.
Back in the 1980′s I played a little college baseball and I can tell you that you can’t catch a ball if your glove is closed! It bounces right off! Maybe this has already given you an “Aha! I never thought of that” moment–but even so, read on for tips on how to open up so you can “catch” that “ball” you are seeking. Why You Really Need to Use Positive Affirmations If You Want To Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind1/30/2016 ![]()
When I first began studying to be a coach, I noticed very quickly that everyone was adamant about the value of “affirmations” for helping people to achieve their goals. My first reaction was decidedly negative! “Just because you say something over and over again doesn’t make it so!”
What I didn’t understand at the time was something called the “self-talk loop” which actually does function to make what you “say” become what actually “is.” Here’s how it works… ![]()
Whatever you’re trying to accomplish, clarity is paramount. Being consistent and staying on track is largely a result of being unambiguous about your life and purpose. Fortunately, getting clarity in your life is easy with a little daily effort.
Having clear goals is critical. Your brain is much more capable of finding solutions if the objective is obvious. You’ll also stay on track more easily if the end result is clear to you. If you don’t have a specific endpoint in mind, you could end up anywhere. And even if you do land in the right place by sheer luck, how would you know you were there? ![]()
Manifesting wealth and abundance begins from within. You have to appreciate what you have in your life already – your family, friends, and job – instead of focusing on what you wish you had.
Often people waste precious time thinking about what they don’t have. They start to believe their lives will improve if only they had more money, or more friends, or more gadgets. They think about what’s lacking instead of the abundance that is already overflowing into their life. |
