Unfortunately, quite a few people who have a “breakthrough” moment like this tend to very quickly return to their previous way of being– unconfident, stuck, fearful, anxious– and wondering what happened? Why could they walk on hot coals when the drums were drumming and people were cheering, but two weeks later they were back where they started?
A few weeks ago I did the “fire walk” experience that occurs during Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within conferences. It’s an incredible experience. Tony makes the point that it’s NOT about “fire walking” per se. The point is to get people to change their understanding of what is possible and to take action on that possibility. Over 5000 people successfully completed the fire walk without injury when I did it in Dallas, TX and everyone was completely blown away by the experience. When people came back in the building after the walk, they finally saw themselves from a larger perspective and thought, “Wow! If I can do THAT, I can do ANYTHING!”

I really loved my ten days on the island of Oahu, one of the eight major islands that comprise the state of Hawaii. It was fabulous! For me, one of the best features of the whole trip was the beautiful scenery and the mild temperatures. I never thought I’d have to go to an equatorial tropical island in order to cool off, but Houston, Texas in the summer is just that hot these days! Anyway, the downside is that it’s an eight hour flight from Bush Intercontinental to Honolulu, which can be difficult for people with fears about flying or confined spaces. Not being comfortable in an airliner means you’ll probably never get to Hawaii. It may keep you from advancing in your career if you need to do business internationally. You might not see your grandchildren if they live out of state. Is there a way to use NLP and hypnosis to make traveling easier? Sure there is! I noticed that one of my old friends had posted to Facebook that he was beginning yet another attempt to quit smoking. As a former smoker myself, I can understand how challenging it can be to crush out that final butt and not light another one. I also know that it is most certainly possible to break the smoking habit, and the majority of people who decide to give it up are able to do so—and do so permanently. But how? The easiest and most effective method to quit smoking is through hypnotherapy and EFT (emotional freedom techniques). This week I’ll talk about the former and next week about the latter. You’ll be able to get started quickly and strengthen the gains you make with either technology to improve your results. When it rains, it pours! In one single week I had four individuals ask me about overcoming their fear of public speaking. I did a quick Google search on “fear of public speaking” and found that most people would rather die than speak in front of a group! Seriously! Here’s the list of top 10 fears among Americans: 10. Fear of confined spaces (Claustrophobia). 9. Fear of thunder and lightning (Brontophobia) 8. Fear of open spaces (Agoraphobia) 7. Fear of flying (Aerophobia) 6. Fear of people or social situations (Sociophobia) |
